Back behind the camera...

It has been a long week, y'all. I finally got all the tests and projects out of the way. The minute I walked out of the Tech building this afternoon, I pulled out the camera and was a happy camper again, despite it being a chilly, cloudy day.

Some of these photos are from the campus where I attend college and others are from a little church and adjoining farm that is on my way home.

Sorry y'all...

I swear all my instructors are meeting sometime during the day, just to see how much pressure they can put on us poor students... I have to put the photography on hold for a few days - I've got two major tests and a final coming up, as well as a final project for World Lit.

See y'all soon.

Happy Samhain and "New Year" to those who celebrate it - Beltaine to those in the Southern Hemisphere! Happy Halloween to everyone else!

I intended to take photos of *all* my cats but as luck would have it, and rather appropriately at that, Spook hogged all the attention she could. I only got a few of Mishy and the "New Kid" (he's only been here for about two weeks and therefore doesn't have a name yet.) My oldest, Kitt, decided it was beneath him to be seen with the peasants and didn't show up until it was over.

Enjoy these *13* photos.

Hey...what was that bright yellow stuff I saw today? Could it be....the *sun*???

I went to the old city cemetary in Gallatin TN. I could spend days in that place. Some of the carvings on the grave markers are incredible!

Grave Stone Symbols:
Ivy: eternal life (because some varieties are evergreen)
Hand pointing up: Gone to Heaven
Lily: purity

I stopped by this little church cemetary today. I was looking for old grave markers with symbols on them: doves, roses, anchors, hands, gates, ivy, arches, seashells, etc. I kept seeing some of those symbols and wondered if they meant anything. Guess what? There is a literally a complete language out there in old cemetaries.

The one I visited today, though, was largely silent. I did find a few other shots though.
